Nous progressions depuis plusieurs semaines dans les boyaux plus ou moins étroits qui croiraient sous les milliers de kilomètres du Mont Olympus. Une lueur chaude nous signifia que nous étions tout proches d’atteindre ce pour quoi nous étions là : une étrange cavité dont nous ne comprenions pas l’origine. C’est alors que nous découvrîmes que l’humain n’était pas le premier être vivant à avoir posé sa marque sur cette planète. L’étrange structure artificielle de la ville que nous appellerions plus tard Olympia fit voler en éclat nos certitudes les plus ancrées.
FWe had been progressing for several weeks in the more or less narrow gutters that crunched under the thousands of kilometers of Olympus Mons. A warm glow told us that we were very close to reaching what we were there for: a strange cavity of which we did not understand the origin. It was then that we discovered that humans were not the first living beings to have made their mark on this planet. The strange artificial structure of the city we would later call Olympia shattered our most deeply held beliefs.
